Welcome to Sunnybrook Farm!
Let me introduce myself... I grew up in California in an animal loving family; my childhood was spent rescuing animals with my mother, and for a time, living in a house that resembled a petting zoo.

I was a Music major at the University of Alabama which led to a career in the music business. For almost 20 years I was primarily a live sound engineer which allowed me to travel the world with different bands putting on concerts; but my life long passion has always been animals, so even when touring overseas I spent every day-off rescuing animals. In 1992 I moved to Flagstaff with my 6 dogs and 3 cats and by 1998 I retired completely from the music business.

In 1996 I started "Sunnybrook Farm" a Pet Sitting business which grew to include Dog Walking, Doggie Day Care, Dog Boarding and Pet Transportation. I started making Dog Necklaces featuring the "Dog and Mom Jewelry Set" to help support rescued animals. I converted my garage to accommodate rescued dogs and in 2000 started a no-kill Cat Shelter for adult cats. I've held positions at other shelters, non-profit organizations as well as retail pet stores. My experience with all kinds of animals and my knowledge of different pet-related areas makes me a valuable friend to your pet. I treat every animal as my own, with love, patience and understanding.

Very unexpectedly and suddenly my Rosie girl died on June 8th 2005. I don't have the words to describe my pain. She was my rock, she was the cornerstone of this family. We all leaned on her and she was strong enough to carry us all. I cry for you every night Rosie.

My sweet, sweet Valentine died Thurs. June 15th 2006 at home with me and the other dogs, also my sister Joanna, my nieces Angelica and Maddie and my nephew Nicky. She was my first dog and therefore had the most history with me, this was very hard. I thought since she was almost 15 and sick a lot in her life that I would be better at letting her go. It doesn't get any easier no matter what. My heart aches like never before, I find that I'm standing in the house not knowing what to do, I'm always looking for her to come in the door to get dinner and I'm also checking her pillow at night to see if she's O.K. Valentine my baby girl, I love you so much.

My little girl Boo died Saturday morning, May 17th 2008. She was on my bed and I held her in my arms as she took her last breath. Such a sweet, sweet girl. I would feel empty inside if it weren't for the immense pain that I feel all over. I hope you're running around in heaven with all the other dogs Boo. I love you sweetheart.

Bud, what a trooper, he was over 16 years old and would have followed me till the day his little legs fell off,. The most loyal dog I have ever owned, the sweetest, most nurturing, mild mannered dog ever. Everyone that knew him said he was the sweetest dog they had ever known, he was so loved by all my friends and neighbors. He passed away at home on July 13th 2009, with all his siblings around him and some friends and neighbors as well. The consensus is that a dog like Bud only comes around once in a life- time. I love you Bud, I miss you more than I ever thought possible.

Brutus died on May 18th 2011, 8 months after being diagnosed with cancer. It was miraculous that he survived as long as he did. He was a beautiful boy that made me laugh so hard that I'd be crying and I miss him so much. The bed is definately colder without him in it. I love you brutus.

My New Kids...

Charlotte was born on Nov. 21st 2004 and joined our family Feb. 1st 2005. I am proud to announce that Charlotte passed her Canine Good Citizen Test in Oct. 2010, and won her first NADAC Regular Novice Agility Title on Aug. 28, 2011 and her first AKC Novice Jumpers with Weaves Agility Title on Oct. 23, 2011.

Sammi or Samantha, came from a Poodle rescue. I think she might be a Poodle/Bichon mix. She was born approx. August 2006.  Sammi is following in Charlotte's footsteps and also becoming very good at agility, she won 1st place and Q'd in her very first Tunnelers run on Aug. 28, 2011.

I just adopted an older dog named Ivy on Sept. 20th, 2011, she is between 8 and 10 yrs old, a Cocker Spaniel mix. She is really sweet and has fit in well with our family.
